Digital Apprentices Mobility in the Automotive Sector – Pilot Activity Held Online

24/03/2023

The DAMAS (Digital Apprentices Mobility in the Automotive Sector) project aims at testing virtual mobility in the automotive sector. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, developing virtual mobility has proven to be a key need in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

DAMAS partners, having released a guideline on virtual mobility, are at a pivotal stage of the project that concerns the teacher training event before the end of the DAMAS project. On the 22nd of March 2023, VET staff from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden attended an online training to pilot a Moodle being created as a training guide for VET professionals.

During this session, the partners presented the DAMAS Project, goals and main results focusing on the e-learning platform for the participants as a way of learning for acquiring further knowledge about virtual and blended mobility, virtual reality and its application as an innovative training tool.

After a brief presentation of the participants (mostly VET trainers and teachers), the team showed the trainees the main features of the Online Platform, describing very shortly the 6 Modules available online as OERs. The idea is to allow the trainees to explore the training contents on their own to discuss their perceptions and thoughts during the next online meeting (20 April 2023). In the next meeting, all the trainers will have the chance to meet and get to know each other better and share further knowledge about innovative Virtual Reality training tools and methodologies to be used in the training with the aim of creating a network of VET teachers at European level ready to exploit the project results even after the end of DAMAS Project.
