Erasmus+ Horizontal Priorities: Movetia Webinar Explores Opportunities for Swiss Education Actors

29/10/2026

On 29 October 2026, Movetia, Switzerland’s national agency for exchange and mobility, organised an online webinar on the four horizontal priorities of Erasmus+, helping education professionals understand how to integrate them into projects and prepare for Switzerland’s planned association with the programme in 2027.

The webinar, Erasmus+ and the Four Horizontal Priorities, was aimed primarily at vocational education and training (VET) institutions, while also welcoming participants from other education sectors. It provided an introduction to the Erasmus+ programme, its objectives and key actions, with a particular focus on mobility projects (KA1) and cooperation partnerships (KA2).

Camilla Winter, an experienced internationalisation expert with more than 30 years of experience in vocational education and adult learning, led the main session. She presented the four horizontal priorities of Erasmus+: inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, the environment and the fight against climate change, and participation in democratic life. Using examples from vocational education and training, she explored how these priorities can be integrated into project planning and implementation, helping organisations strengthen the relevance and societal impact of their initiatives.

Participants also learned about Training and Cooperation Activities (TCA), which offer further opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop partnerships and improve the quality of Erasmus+ projects. The session concluded with practical advice on consulting programme guidance, exploring available resources and preparing future project activities.

Both Movetia and Camilla Winter are associated members of EARLALL. Their involvement reflects the importance of connecting national agencies, regional authorities and education stakeholders to strengthen international cooperation and lifelong learning across Europe.

The webinar also comes at a significant moment for European cooperation. Discussions on Switzerland’s potential participation in Erasmus+ highlight the evolving opportunities for mobility, partnerships and knowledge exchange. Maintaining strong links between regions and organisations will be essential to making the most of these developments and supporting cooperation across European education and training systems.

Further webinars are planned for January 2027, focusing on VET mobility projects under Erasmus+ and the application process for VET projects, providing additional support for organisations preparing to engage with the programme.
