EARLALL was invited yesterday to present its work online to a group of regional representatives from Østfold, Norway. The region is exploring ways to strengthen its contacts with EARLALL, including the possibility of future membership, and the session offered an opportunity to learn more about the association and its network.
EARLALL Director Noelia Cantero gave an overview of the association’s priorities and outlook in the field of lifelong learning and vocational education and training. She presented how EARLALL brings together regional and local authorities to influence European policy, exchange practices, and develop joint projects, and invited the Østfold representatives to take part in the association’s upcoming activities.
A key part of the presentation focused on the cooperation activities already developed with EARLALL’s Norwegian members: Vestland County, the Trøndelag European Office and the Hamar Region. These examples illustrated the added value of working together at the European level and the different ways Norwegian regions are engaging with their peers across the continent. She also stressed the importance of European regional cooperation in times of crisis, when sharing experience and acting together across borders matters most.
Tangi De Rochefort and Fabienne Martin Goudet from the Brittany Region, also an EARLALL member, followed with an online presentation. They outlined the regional context in Brittany and introduced the Erasmus+ project Pathways – Breaking the Cycle: Innovative Adult and Vocational Education for the Reintegration of People in Prison, which focuses on education in prisons. The project sparked interest among the Østfold representatives and led to a discussion on how regions can learn from each other’s approaches.
EARLALL thanks the Østfold delegation for the invitation and the open exchange, and looks forward to continuing the dialogue in the coming months.
